Sittingbourne Branch Manager Ryan Denniss celebrates five years with Harrisons

It's hard for any of us to imagine a time when Ryan wasn't part of the Harrisons team, or what the team would look like without him. Ryan is living proof that the grass is not always greener, as Ryan originally joined Harrisons in Rainham in 2011 as a trainee negotiator, he had aspirations to eventually become a surveyor. As Ryan progressed, he grew to love the estate agency industry.

He progressed through the ranks, with Harrisons, to become senior negotiator and wanted to progress his career even further. So in 2016 Ryan left to become a "Local Property Expert" with a national online agency. Within a very short space of time, Ryan realised how different other agencies are to where he'd come from. His main role was to win listings, he wasn't expected to sell the houses he instructed. He realised that it was building a relationship with a client, nurturing their journey from listing to completion that he really loved. As with many agents, once he had won the business, he had little or no contact with the client after getting the listing.

So, when Chris Ellis called Ryan to ask him if he wanted to join Chris' team in Sittingbourne as Branch Manager, Ryan jumped at the chance.

The rest, as they say is history. Five years on, Chris and Ryan have become, Sittingbourne's dream team. Despite being warned in the early days that being so similar they would clash, the pair share a passion and vision that has built the business up to where it is now, a market leading, award winning, innovative agency.

Ryan, congratulations on 5 years from the team, it seems only fitting that Chris has the final word as he reflects over five years working with Ryan

"It seems like yesterday we had a conversation about about Ryan joining the Sittingbourne team. 5 years on, we're still sharing the same values and vision for both the company and the industry. The last couple of years have been challenging for both us however we have stuck together and kept each other motivated and I couldn’t be more grateful for the effort Ryan puts in on a day to day basis! To have someone not only as an employee, but also a good friend means a lot!"

Selling a property can be a daunting task, especially when faced with challenges like a sluggish market or ineffective estate agents. If you've been on the market for more than 8 weeks without significant interest, or if your current agent has advised reducing the price, it might be time to consider making a change.

Choosing the right estate agent can make or break your property sale. Before signing anything, ask these 12 essential questions to uncover their true experience, transparency, and commitment—helping you secure the best price, smoothest process, and an agent you can truly trust.

One of the most important decisions you’ll make when selling your home is setting the right asking price. But what happens when your home has been on the market for a while, and you’re not seeing the offers you expected? A price drop can be a powerful tool to attract more buyers, but it’s not always the right move for everyone.

When it comes to buying a home, the property itself is only one part of the equation. The neighborhood and surrounding area play a significant role in shaping your experience as a homeowner. Whether you’re new to the area or considering a move, getting to know the local community is essential in making an informed decision.
