Harrisons passes £20,000 milestone in their support of Holding On Letting Go!

Since June 2020, Harrisons have found many ways to raise money for Kent-based charity, Holding on Letting Go. From organising raffles to charity bike rides and walks, we are constantly thinking of new ways to raise crucial money, which enables trained volunteers to support children who are going through a bereavement.

Our focus as an Estate Agent business needed to have our community at the heart of our values. That being said, we long ago chose Holding On Letting Go to be the recipient of our fundraising due to the important and essential service we feel they provide.

Harrisons owner Chris was drawn to Holding On Letting go during the pandemic, because he wanted to support a local charity long-term.

“HOLG is a small charity doing work, and the more we found out about them, the more we wanted to keep on supporting them.”
“I'm a father of two and can see the long-term effect of growing up without a parent for example; a part of their future is gone, sometimes in an instant, so what HOLG do is absolutely vital for families to help them through bereavement.”

It is enough for us as 'grown-ups' to lose a loved one, but children can sometimes display grief in different ways, and they may not always recognise what they are feeling to be part of that process. Rather than allow any loss to just be a part of life, Holding On Letting Go aims to offer all the space young ones need to fully allow their voices and emotions to be seen and heard.
To not be a part of that would make no sense to us.

2023 – new fundraising adventures

Harrisons already pledge £50 from every house sale completion to Holding On Letting Go. As well as this, the staff here at Harrisons HQ have all contributed finely to fundraising activities, from raffles to getting out and about in nature for various challenges.
Chris has spent much of January conjuring many new and inventive ways to continue to raise money, and with that will be an updated GoFundMe page ready to bring the community together to support them all.

Harrisons are pleased to confirm their continued support of Holding On Letting Go. With a combination of running challenges and our pledge to donate £50 from every house sale that completes, we are also looking for new and exciting staff challenges that will raise the bar for 2023, ensuring regular fundraising opportunities for this charity we admire and support.

Further than that, Chris himself will be doing a series of running challenges in 2023 in addition to the continuation of the £50 pledge he promised back in 2020.

Running with purpose

Running is a great way to keep fit, but when you can entangle elements of fundraising in it as you go along, it doesn't take much to find a new sense of purpose with each mile.

Chris is proud to be a part of this, and to be pushing himself for a variety of challenges that you can all be a part of.

To celebrate passing this milestone we will be holding a pop up event at Mosey's Garden Centre on the 11th March. There will be a chance to meet some of the Harrisons and Holding On Letting Go teams, have a cuddle from Rupert the miniature shetland pony, who is celebrating raising £500 for the charity himself. On top of that will be holding a raffle, and will be joined by Sittingbourne Carnival Court.

Watch this space for how you can help donate to our Holding On Letting Go GoFundMe page!
