A BIG weekend for Holding On Letting Go's Fund-raising

Harrisons Residential are proud to be supporting Holding On Letting Go, this weekend they are fund raising in some really fun ways. We are sharing their newsletter so that you can get involved

Live music and a big #2.6challenge weekend!
A note from Fundraising Officer, Caroline Gaskin

"Being a fundraiser during a lockdown is certainly different. Like so many charities, we've had to cancel all of the events we planned to put on as fundraisers, and we know that all of the businesses and schools who were supporting us as their charity of the year have had to do the same - so it's time to get creative!" I'm sure that some of you, like me, are missing being able to go out and listen to some live music in your favourite pub or club. So here's a suggestion for you, that could also be benficial for Holding On Letting Go.

Josh Jennings - Singer

Josh Jennings is streaming live on Saturday 25th April at 7pm. Josh is a great singer who performs many of the old classics, including songs like Feeling Good, That's Life and Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay.
Josh has already streamed for the last two Saturdays and has raised over £700 in donations for NHS Charities Together. This Saturday, he is asking for voluntary donations from any appreciative viewers to come to Holding On Letting Go.
We're really grateful for Josh's support and would love for him to have a great audience with some new viewers this weekend, so please do join us.
To listen, all you need to do is to 'like' his page on Facebook: Josh Jennings - Singer, then come onto the page at 7pm and he'll be there ready to entertain you for an hour or two.

#2.6challenge

The organisers of mass participation events, like the London Marathon, have come together and arranged a fundraiser to help charities to raise money now. It's called the #2.6challenge. The idea is that individuals or groups take on their own challenge around the numbers 2.6, 26, 260... to tie in with the distance of the London Marathon, which would have been run this Sunday (the 26th of April of course!).
Individuals can choose to raise money for a specific charity (like Holding On Letting Go for example) or just choose to raise money for all charities. The money raised from the second type of fundraiser all goes into one general pot, which is then shared between all charities with #2.6 challenge fundraising pages on JustGiving or VirginMoneyGiving. So, we will raise money from all of your individual #2.6challenges in aid of Holding On Letting Go, but would also then get a share of the general pot.
Some examples of personal challenges are: running 2.6 miles, scooting or hopping set distance for children, skipping 260 skips or 26 sets of 26 skips, running/cycling 26 miles over a week (as your daily exercise)… the list could go on and on.
The idea is that these challenges take place during the week of 26th April - so there's still time for you to start your own personal challenge!

My #2.6challenge: 26 dances in 26 minutes on 26 April

If you would like to support Holding On Letting Go, but do not fancy taking on your own #2.6 challenge, perhaps you would like to support me in mine!
My daughter and I both attend United Dance Studios, and are certainly missing dancing during this lockdown. So, the pupils of the dance school are coming together on Sunday to do 26 dances in 26 minutes on 26th April. The dances will include Ballroom and Latin favourites like you see on Strictly: Waltz, Quickstep, Cha Cha Cha and Jive to name a few, but we'll also be taking on some dancefloor favourites like the Macarena, Saturday Night... and many more. I'm not sure I'm fit enough for this, but we're going to give it a go.
If you'd like to support us, you can do so via this link: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/UnitedDance2.6challenge

Thank you very much!

Spooky season is upon us. It's all pumpkin-spiced lattes and woolly jumpers, and TV is filled with re-runs of classic horror movies. But a haunted house is haunted all year round, isn't it? Would you live in a haunted house?
